Hocking Hills Exclusive: Healthies on Hunter

First impressions:

Walked in to Healthies on Hunter and was greeted with a warm welcome and a smile to boot! You can really see that Jennifer is really passionate about what she does. Her goals are heavily rooted in maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.

It was apparent that she really cares about her work and helping people from her anecdotes of her time spent with her family and the love she has for her customers.

I had just ate brunch at M & M diner, and that was a delight in and of itself. So I expressed that I wanted something light to try and Jennifer suggested a tea after careful consideration of my personal taste she suggested a coconut, cherry, and orange tea and it did not disappoint.

It is worth mentioning that during the time of the interview Jennifer had multiple customers enter, many of which, she knew. They came in during their breaks at work or in between errands. The cozy feel and vibe sets the tone for a relaxing environment that you could see take weight off their customers.

In December of 2020.

2. What is your mission?

“Making healthy taste good and attracting customers to a healthier lifestyle “

4. How many employees do you currently employ?

Currently, two. The owner Ashley and her business partner Jennifer.

5. Do you currently network or use other local businesses to bring goods and services to the community?

At this time, we are currently are looking into participating in local events like the Washboard Festival and similar opportunities as well as working with The Hocking Hills LLC.

Due to their relationship with Herbalife they are not allowed to do paid advertisements. As such, Ashley and Jennifer have worked hard building a following through word of mouth and social media.

6. What is your favorite thing about Hocking Hills?

“I love the scenery… Old Man’s Cave… outdoor attractions. That’s what I love about it.”

7. What is something unique about your business?

“I personally think that we make it unique. We—[Healthies on Hunter]—make it a family environment. I swear everyone is like family here.”

8. What Inspires you?

It was very apparent when speaking with Jennifer that her customers inspired her each day by sharing their lives, time, energy, and passion for living a happier and healthier lifestyle.

9. Where do you see yourself and/or business in 5 year?

“I see our business growing” potentially multiple locations” where the partners can own and manage multiple stores and help even more people find a more healthy lifestyle.

If you could give your younger self any advice, what would it be?

To not stress over every little thing, it’s not worth it.


I would want the working class that can’t quite make it in life by themselves to get more help…
